Riding an e-bike? This one thing could save your life and your pocketbook.

Remember riding a bike when you were a kid casually pedaling along. You're going about five miles an hour with ease. But to go faster, say 10 miles an hour, you really had to work hard.

Well, that's the great thing about an e-bike. It's super easy to go 10 miles an hour or even 20 or 28, but that's also the problem.

When you're riding a regular bike at five miles an hour you aren't doing any work and your mind's in five-mile-an-hour mode casually riding along. But when you're riding an e-bike, it's super easy to cruise at 10, 15, or 20 miles an hour with no effort. Your mind can revert back to that casual five-mile-an-hour mode, and it's super easy to get in over your head.

You aren't really thinking about how much speed you're carrying into a turn or how far it's gonna take you to stop if you have to slam on the brakes.

And if you're on one of our GT models going 28 miles an hour, it's even more of an issue. So don't get in over your head when you're riding. Pay attention and be aware of the speed that you're carrying. You're not on a bicycle, you're on an e-bike.
